Yes, the man who has never been afraid to take all sides on an issue ….no mask, yes mask, no double mask, yes double mask,… is getting a prize for his defense of #Science.
Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, has been awarded a top international prize for his leadership role during throughout the global coronavirus pandemic.
The Dan David Prize, which includes a $1 million cash prize, was awarded to Fauci for his defense of science and advocacy for the distribution and use of the coronavirus vaccine around the globe.

He’ll collect his winnings on May 9th.
I don’t have a problem with science and medicine. What I do have a problem with is a government official not being honest with the public because he has his “good reasons” not to be. When Fauci first told us NOT to wear masks, he said he did it in order to try and save as much PPE for the medical professionals. Later, he came out and said, yes, people should be wearing masks, and he admitted he lied to the public before about mask wearing in order to conserve stores of PPE.
What I would have preferred was to be treated as an adult. As in what JFK said about asking what you can do FOR your country. Fauci could have been honest at the outset telling the populace that there were shortages of PPE. He could have ASKED people to understand the needs of the medical community, asked the general public to be proactive and donate what they could, sacrifice where they could, and be sure to try and follow the other guidelines of social distancing, hand washing, face-touching etc…. stressing the immediate need of the doctors and nurses on the front line to have the PPE early in the pandemic. He could have recommended cloth face coverings for the general public at the time instead of just saying no to masks in general. It could have been a rallying unifying moment.
Fauci, in my opinion, lying for his greater good has caused more relational damage between the people and government. If he can choose to lie for his reasons, why shouldn’t we expect anyone else in government lie for their good reasons as well?
