It’s been a little over five years(!) since Islamic terrorists Sayeed Rizwan Farook and his wife Tashfeen Malik shot and killed fourteen people during a Christmas party and seriously injured twenty-two more in San Bernardino, California. Farook’s mother, who had been living with the couple watching their child, pled guilty last March to felony destruction and mutilation of records when she shredded a map her son had made outlining the the attack after it was committed. She received her sentence yesterday:
The 67-year-old mother of an Islamic terrorist who killed more than a dozen people in an attack following a Christmas party at the Inland Regional Center was sentenced Thursday in Riverside to six months home confinement and three years probation for destroying evidence connected to the massacre.
Rafia Sultana Shareef, also known as Rafia Farook, pleaded guilty in March to a felony charge of destruction and mutilation of records central to a federal criminal investigation.
U.S. District Judge Jesus Bernal imposed a lighter sentence than was possible under the plea agreement with the U.S. Attorney’s Office, which called for up to 18 months in federal prison.
Shareef apologized for her actions prior to the sentencing at the federal courthouse in downtown Riverside.

Six months home confinement and three years probation for destroying records you know help to prove your jihadist son killed and injured three dozen people? How farcical. But I guess apologizing is all it takes to woo a judge in California.
No one else has gotten any jailtime in the related story of immigration fraud with this family either. Syed Raheel Farook (Sayeed’s older brother) and his wife Tatiana Farook both have received three years probation after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit immigration fraud by way of a sham marriage in attempts to help Tatiana’s sister apply for permanent resident status. The sister, Mariya Chernkh is due to be sentenced March 29th. If things continue to go as they have so far, she too will probably get a probationary slap on the hand.
