There are reports that President Trump is happier now that he’s no longer subjected to the stewpots of hate we know as social media.
Former President Trump “feels happier” since leaving the White House — partly because he’s off social media, his former campaign aide says.
“The president has said he feels happier now than he’s been in some time,” said former Trump campaign strategist Jason Miller in an interview with the UK’s Sunday Times.
Trump was banned from Twitter, Facebook and other social-media platforms after the siege on the US Capitol last month.
“He’s said that not being on social media, and not being subject to the hateful echo chamber that social media too frequently becomes, has actually been good,” Miller told the outlet.
I couldn’t agree more. I was on Twitter for eleven years before ultimately deleting my account over their censorship. Why continue TO BE THEIR PRODUCT FROM WHICH THEY MAKE MONEY when users are not allowed to freely express themselves? While I was very active in tweeting, actually mostly retweeting news stories, I didn’t often engage in long conversations or build substantial relationships with anyone through the site. I used it mostly as a quick and easy way to get the news.
Now I’m trying to create this little site as a repository of links to news media from across the country. Links that will take you to their sites so you can peruse headlines for yourself. And while I’m not on Twitter any longer, I have provided embedded twitter timelines on various pages on this site where you can read for yourself what someone or some outlet has posted there. It allows you to see some of what is happening on Twitter without having to have a Twitter account yourself.
If there is an account you might like to see included on a page, feel free to comment on it. As I said, this is a work in progress, and I’m still busy linking local and state news sites to pages, but I’m willing to review any suggestions provided.
Until then, here’s to doing what’s best for your mental health.
Stewpots of hate! ftw
